Can you believe its February already? Man, where's the time going?

So, now that it's February, have you started your New Years Fitness and Weight Loss resolution? No? Yes? Either way, that's ok, but don't wait much longer. You see how fast January went? Suddenly it will be spring and summer and you'll rush to the gym to get in summer shape, but it will be too late...so you'll say, "I'll just wait till next year!" But really, is fitness seasonal?

What's the most important to you? The health and fitness aspect of fitness and weight loss, or the aesthetic rewards of pushing out weight and running those pounds away? Everyone's different, and that's ok. We do this for various reasons.

Some do it for health reasons...whether to help correct a problem, to avoid a problem or to just feel healthy. Others do it to get great strength, and others for that nice lookin' muscle that makes it so nice to wear a sleeveless shirt. But none are wrong.

I speak to people all day long about the differences. It's amazing, but you wouldn't believe how many people who exercise say the Quality of their lives, and of how they can interact with others and their kids, in particular, is their main goal when working out. Go figure! ha!

Actually, there are tons of folks out there that would rather not workout if they feel they can't get big or cut muscle, or if they won't be toned by summer. So they do nothing. But they complain about their backs, their knees, shoulders, and they complain about their weight, or how hard it is to get on the floor and back up, or just to bend to pick something up.

Fitness and weight loss if for life. It's not for summer...it's not seasonal, and not everyone is a body builder. I want you to think simply about the quality of your life, which to me is much much more important than how big your muscles are. Wouldn't it be great to walk up the stairs, pick up your kids, grandkids, girlfriend, wife, even husband? How about the daily chores of laundry, yard work, car repairs, snow shoveling, office work, warehouse work, etc.  The most common phrase i hear is, "I gotta get in shape", usually followed by "Phew"! LOL.

Mentally, young, middle aged, or old, strength training in particular has been proven to help increase brain function, memory, alertness and general motor skills and dexterity. If you're a smoker, sorry, but workout anyway. It will be harder at first, but you'll get benefits just the same...EVERYONE should do it! And NO ONE...and I mean NO ONE is off the hook. If you're not doing something FOR yourself, you're doing something AGAINST yourself! You're your own worst enemy, and the next time you complain about your weight, your knees, shoulders, back, remember, you may not be able to correct things 100% all the time, but by not doing something, you really shouldn't complain unless a doctor told you specifically to NOT DO A THING!

Goals are great, and most people should have a fairly defined goal in the beginning, but that's where so many people get stuck! They don't know what it is exactly that they want, or feel that what they want is unrealistic or unattainable. (first of all, I believe in the See It Be it philosophy so visualize what you want and go for it!!).

Don't get stuck. Do it. Just do it! Get started...who cares why or for who ,or the outcome. You're going to increase the quality of your life by hitting the weights, doing 30 minutes of cardio and eating better. You'll see changes and most definitely feel the changes. Your strength will increase, your feeling of AWESOMENESS will be obvious to all, and you'll start to realize maybe you can go for that goal you've secretly been hiding.

Whatever your reason, just do it folks! Not sure how to start or what to do? Come get some training. Learn how to use your muscles, where they even are. Feel your heart rate go up, feel your muscles working again and that's it...you're on your way!

Anything you do, you'll reap rewards. No matter what your age, gender, or if you have sore knees, or back or even if you smoke. You'll be happy you did! Come on down and lets talk about how I can help you, simply put, Make Your Life Better!
