Hey Everyone! How are you doing? Well, the holidays are here, almost. Unfortunately, we're not always ready. It's a time for stresses, and who wants to even think about exercise right now!

There are different kinds of fitness, and I'll go through a few quickly (yeah Mark, when's the last time you went through something quickly!). And don't think this is Deja MOOO! (you know, the feeling you've heard this Bull Before!)

How can minimize the mental, anxious part of the holidays. We all get it at some point. How can we help with the financial fitness...who couldn't use a few bucks right now, right? How can I maximize or at least stay on my physical fitness track during the holidays.

This isn't my traditional newsletter. And most of it does have to do with staying or getting in shape, but there's more to it than that, and I've had success with a few different things, so bare with me...ok?

Financial Fitness
This time of year is stressful, financially speaking. Kids, families, significant others, and we feel that need and pressure to buy, buy buy, and you will. This part I've thrown in, because recently, I've had some successes with selling my unused stuff on Craigslist. I made almost $1,000 in one week with things that had value, but I never or rarely used. I also sold $1,000 in spin bikes from someone elses gym.

Using Craigslist properly can make you a few extra bucks or more for the holiday season and beyond. We all have stuff we think we'll get rid of someday, but never do. Craigslist and other online selling vehicles can be dangerous as well or you can get ripped off.

Want to make a few extra bucks? Bring me your unused stuff in good shape, cleaned up, and i'll find out what it's going for, sell it online, and help get you those extra holiday bucks. When it's sold, you'll get your extra money, and I'll take 10 - 15% for the sale. Don't wait though. It sometimes takes a few weeks to sell. I've sold a Nautica watch for $150 (never used), Digital Camera, Unused Dumbbells for $375, an older Computer monitor in good shape for $100, and a few other items. Just Bring your stuff down, tell others the same. You can just give me a call at 631-834-1427 if you're interested in making some extra holiday cash!

Mental Stress
Man, who doesn't have it this time of year. But really, it's going to be there. So how do you help ease the worst part of stress...ANXIETY! We all get anxious over things. But one of the best ways to get rid of that anxiety is exercise.

We forget how good it feels to move and use our bodies, get a sweat going. All of my clients and some point have said they were tired, or stressed before they came in and thought about not showing! After the session, everyone always says, "I almost didn't come today, but I'm so glad I did, I feel so much better". And after that, when they feel like that, they are sure to come, because they know the benefits. The chemicals released in your body during exercise, the movement, the strong feeling...they all go hand in hand and when you're done, you're revitalized and feeling like a new person.

At least come down and get a membership for the month of December. Use the cardio equipment, the weights, or go for a walk up 90 floors on the stair climber! LOL...sounds crazy, but I have two clients who do it frequently. Put on your Ipod and lose yourself in getting your body moving.

It's a great semi private environment that lends itself to feeling great. Come to one of my classes that I'm getting started. You'll never know what you walk into. Could be a bootcamp, a boxing exercise class, full body exercises and calisthenics or a Legs, Guts and Butts!

Physical Fitness
Whether you're in a groove, starting a groove, wanna start a groove or feeling you need a new groove of a fitness regiment, this is the best time to start. The holiday 15 as I call it (15lbs gained during the holiday season) is right around the corner. What if you were able to stave that off, or maybe even, GOD FORBID, Lose a few pounds during the holidays! Well you can.

I recently read someones site on how they became so fit. It's a woman who's nickname is ChickenTuna. She's a bodybuilder, who isn't a bodybuilder! Huh? She's very straightforward about what she eats and does. She doesn't believe in all the jargon like CLEAN eating, or MACRO NUTRIENTS. She'll tell you directly, here's how it is.  You want to lose weight and see some muscle no matter what shape you are in now? Eat plainly. No dressings, no garbage, eat the basics. Boring? Yep, but what's worse? Being out of shape, sick, winded all the time, tired, heavy? Or, ok, being bored with your food, and looking great, feeling great, being healthy, feeling younger and stronger?

It's no contest. Food has taken up WAY too much of our lives. We think about what to eat, what not to eat, how much to eat. YIKES. No wonder we're always TOO busy to exercise....we're too busy thinking about food!

Grilled chick, Tuna out of the Can, Broccoli, Brown Rice, Oatmeal, and on and on. Every time you say, Hmmmm...I think I'll eat some Mac and cheese, or go to McDonalds, you're making a conscious decision to eat that way. But don't complain that you can't lose weight. Eating SOME good things, SOME times, doesn't make you lose weight. Sure, you can start slowly if you need to get the hang of it, but the results will come FAST if you change your diet...make the right conscious decision.

This time of year is a time of change. It's a change of seasons for sure, holidays, new beginnings, and I'm not talking about just New Years. The leaves fall, there's a chill out there, the sun goes down sooner and we get tired by 7pm thinking its 10pm. Wanna really make a change?

1. Get out of work
2. Get to Fitness By the Bay
3. Get Training, or Get a Class at 8PM or get a membership
4. Get on the treadmill, elliptical, bike, stair climber
5. GET GOING.

When New Years roles around you'll have not only started ,but beat the winter blues, lost weight, gained a new view of yourself (and so will others) and now you can CELEBRATE. What is everyone else celebrating? Starting to Start or thinking of starting? LOL...too funny!! You'll have something to celebrate!

See? That wasn't long!

Ok all, I want to see you here! NO EXCUSES!!! JUST RESULTS!! All the help you need is here. If you know someone who needs the help, come down together, get training together, join the gym together or take a class together. Have a group you want to do it with? We'll work out a schedule for up to 6 people to train or have their own class. But do it. Whether by yourself, or with someone else.
