Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday! First off apologies for poor grammar, punctuation etc in today's newsletter. I had surgery on my left arm last week and typing this one handed. Challenging but well worth the effort if I've made even the slightest difference in one of your lives. And so you know, that's why i have this career...because I've personally learned valuable and life long lessons that I can pass along to those who really want to make a change in their own lives.
I haven't written since I hurt my arm, but I have been training. I'm probably tougher these days too. I love what I do.
This Saturday is New Years Day. So many make resolutions to lose weight, get in shape, to get the body they've always wanted. The problem is, even with the best intentions, most of us put it off and put it off and then realize its almost spring or summer. We figure we'll just wait till after summer to start and then wait again till New Years! I see it all the time.
Winter seems like a hard time to start. Its dark early, something seems to mysteriously make us feel tired. This is actually a great time to start. Why?
Because it gives us energy, it gives us our own time for ourselves to do something constructive JUST FOR US...it gives us a big jump on getting in shape for a new bathing suit this coming summer and because we can usually find that 30 minutes a day easily to take care of ourselves.
Habits are created and broken in 30 days. Will New Years Day be your MAKE IT OR BREAK IT DAY? HMMMM?
Simple lifestyle changes are all it takes to reach your goals. Reaching your goals creates newer goals. Everyone around you learns from them. Suddenly simple things have become very powerful! You'll find your kids, significant other and friends suddenly emulate you and your positive influences.
I have clients whose kids workout or do exercises everyday because they showed them how to do it, or they come in with them and watch from the sidelines imitating what they do. its very rewarding for the parents to see how they take to positive influences.
If you've started, don't get discouraged or stop. Here's an example of what's possible. One of my clients, Nabeel has gone from 298 lbs and on meds for his recently acquired Type II diabetes, to 254lbs, 28% body fat and a lower dosage of meds...in just 3 months. His doctor said he'll probably be off the meds all together by March.
His weight, body fat and glucose levels are all going in the right direction...which direction are yours going in? If not in a good direction then don't even wait till Saturday....start today!
Nabeel changed his lifestyle...just a bit with 3, 30 - 40 minute workouts and 3, 20 - 30 minute walking sessions per week and reducing calories and making simple, "better than choices" in his diet. That's such little time for such great progress.
I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year! May you all start and succeed at any resolution you may have. But remember, it won't happen unless you do it...or just start it.
Call and make an appointment to get started today! Or get a gift cert for someone you love.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
